[Ah. With Mordred materialized it feels a little cramped. They're just a hair's breadth away from brushing chests, and if they were any closer she'd be able to feel Saber's breath on her skin.

Rin shuffles out of the changing room and into the store. It might take her a bit to gather everything, but when she returns it's with a red leather jacket, a loose white button down (that almost looks like it's for a guy), and black pants. It's all draped over her arm, and the jacket is at the bottom.]

Here. This should do it.

[And they'll match. #Aesthetic.]

[ Her impatience vanishes the moment Rin comes back. She's satisfied with everything else, but it's when she sees the jacket that her eyes light up. ]

Ah— this is some good taste, Master! [ Wait, now she's embarrassed. ] I-I mean, it's okay? No, that's not enough...

[ Her grin looks like a little kid being given an awesome Christmas present — which is fitting, because she's never been given anything besides weapons and armour in her life. She's trying to stay cool and composed about it, but that's not working at all. ]

Anyway! There's not enough room with the two of us here, so leave so I can try it on! [ Said while virtually pushing Rin out of the room. ]

[Rin protests as she's pushed out of the changing room, but eventually huffs and takes a seat in one of the 'boyfriend chairs'. There she waits for a moment as her eyes wander over clothes she has no business considering buying for herself.

She heaves a defeated sigh before hanging her head.]

[ At least Mordred doesn't take too long — it's easy to dress when your 'normal' clothes are made of magic. She comes out, still grinning, and does an excited little spin on the spot... which she immediately looks embarrassed about. But she can't hide the look on her face. ]

This is great! Seriously, you're the best, Master. [ Not even sarcastic. Remember this the next time she's being a jerk, maybe. ]

[Mordred's giddiness actually gets to Rin. She smiles as the Servant spins in place, and stands when she begins to look a little embarrassed.]

All right. Give me the tags. I'll go pay for them.

[Was this really all it took to get on her good side? It's a real shame she's on a budget, then.]

[ A real shame... gonna be even more of a shame when she sees how much Mordred eats. ]

Here! [ Yeah, she's still excited. Very slowly calming down, but still excited — she can stay materialized now, after all. ] Now we can explore the city. Well, I guess you already know your way around, but the important part is me.

[ There's the arrogance again. At least she's still smiling? ]

[With an exasperated sigh Rin takes the tags from Mordred so she can stay dressed while Rin pays for the stuff. Most of it doesn't seem too hard on the wallet except for that leather jacket.

At least Mordred isn't calling her names anymore. Rin composes herself so she's not staring longingly at a rack of skirts she desperately wanted to try on as they leave. Sure, she could window shop, but Rin is positive Mordred would complain about that as well.]

I'll take you by the other places in the city that rest on leylines. From there I can show you the quickest way to get somewhere you can use your Noble Phantasm.

[ She'd definitely complain... good call Rin. No matter how good her mood is now, that can change on a whim the moment she gets bored. ]

Excellent, Master. Using it anywhere not open is strictly forbidden. [ Which means yes, she will kill Rin if she orders her to do it. ] But you don't want to involve any commoners either, right? You got so worked up about me dealing with that idiot on the train.

[ Teasing, but she sounds glad about it. ]

All who aren't involved are to stay that way. It's one of the rules of the War I will stick to the strictest. We're only to fight away from the public eye. It'll be tricky, but I'm positive we'll be able to handle it.

[Rin refuses to acknowledge Mordred's comment about the train. Doing so will probably only make her feel validated. Instead she keeps her attention on the people around them. Her eyes search the crowd in a defensive manner.]

Tonight we will scale the rooftops. Getting familiar with those will be for the best. Most people are too busy to look up unless there's a very loud commotion above them.

Of course. And most people are far too concerned with themselves to pay any attention to such a thing.

[ Not that Mordred's one to talk. Her instincts might be highly tuned, but so is her ego. ]

You've planned well for this. I wasn't sure I could trust somebody without a wish, but it doesn't seem like you're lying at all. [ About her reasons for being here, about not wanting to get civilians involved... Mordred still thinks she's weird as hell, but it's an interesting sort of weird, the kind she doesn't mind. ] And what about me? Are you pleased with the Servant you summoned, Master?

[ Not that she's had a chance to prove herself yet, but obviously just her presence should be impressive enough. Praise her. ]

For now all I can say is that you're a Saber and are agreeable to the same terms I am. I'll make my true verdict after we have our first fight.

[But... knowing that they agree on not getting any innocents hurt makes her smile a little. She truly lucked out in getting a servant that won't force her to turn a cold shoulder when it comes to something like that. Rin always strove the be the detached person being a mage requires of her, but her heart is a little too big to commit to it entirely.

As they wait at a crosswalk the smell of a street vendor wafts over to them. The savory smell of takoyaki catches the attention of more than one person standing with them at that corner.]

[ And far be it from Mordred to ignore something so wonderful. Her nostrils flare — and, without even asking, she grabs Rin's forearm (at least take her hand... smh) and starts pulling her over there. ]

Master. Buy me food. [ No "please". ] I want to know what people in this era eat. It'll make things easier on you, too.

[ Since she can get a tiny, tiny bit of mana from food. Not worth it tho. ]

What?! No! We're going to get lunch after we see the Ryuudou Temple! You don't need to eat now.

[Rin does her best to try and stand her ground. Mordred still moves her, but the soles of Rin's shoes scrape against the sidewalk as she pulls her.]

I can eat after that, too! The more, the better!

[ Her logic is flawless, sort of. And if Rin keeps fighting it, she's going to look weird as hell getting dragged down the street by a girl even shorter than she is. ]

I want at least five. No, maybe six? [ She makes a thoughtful face. ] What do you think?

[Finally Rin just rushes Mordred. She steps ahead of her, and grabs the young woman's face in her hands — cupping her cheeks.]

Listen to me! I can't. We don't have the money to do both. Do you know how much your jacket cost?

[ Okay, that— is one of the few things that could actually get her to stop. In an instant, she forgets all about the food and just turns bright red. ]

W-w-w-what the hell are you doing? Don't just touch my face, or I'll bust your teeth in! [ Someone's flustered. Rin may have discovered the secret to getting Mordred to do things. ]

[Rin pats her hands on Mordred's cheeks twice before grabbing her wrist and walking her back to the crosswalk. Once there the light turns and allows them to keep walking without pause.]

I'll get you some at lunch, but don't expect a feast. I would rather you take my mana than break my bank.

[ DON'T PAT HER CHEEKS BE SCARED OF HER?? She's scary!! Scary and... just kind of obediently following Rin with some quiet grumbling. ]

Jeez... well, you did buy this outfit, so I'll give you a pass. [ How generous. She still looks like she's pouting a little, though. ] And you do have a lot of spare mana. I guess I can do whatever I want without worrying too much.

[ She mostly just means staying materialized all the time, but that sure sounds ominous. ]

[Mordred's threats against her currently hold little weight, as does her small stature. Ever since they resolved the first time the Servant had tried to kill her, she's pretty much taken all threats in stride.

Rin doesn't respond too much while leading Mordred along. For now she tries to keep the conversation focused and clinical which probably bores Mordred, but at least she points out strategic areas and landmarks.]

[ It's... well, it is somewhat boring. But the strange thing is, she actually does seem to listen. She doesn't say much, but she makes a thoughtful noise whenever Rin points out anywhere interesting. Even if she didn't give a damn about anyone in it, Mordred did lead her own army at one point — she isn't terrible at this when she has to be.

Eventually, though, her stomach interrupts them to rumble, loudly. ]

Ah. I guess that's that. [ She smirks. ] We're done with strategy for today, Master. It's time for lunch. Then you can rest before we go out again tonight.

[Oh. That's when Rin finally lets go of Mordred's wrist. A small bit of color reaches Rin's cheeks, but she's quick to hide it by continuing to step ahead.]

There's a small restaurant not far from here. It's not expensive, and they're pretty generous with their portions.

Good. As a Servant and a king, I expect nothing but the best.

[ And quantity > quality, in her eyes. Blame having to deal with Gawain for so long. ]

After that, tell me more about yourself, Master. It's easier to bond over food. [ ... She pulled that out of her ass, yeah. She's barely bonded with anyone in her life. ] Even if it's temporary, we're partners for now. I want to know about you.

I'm not sure what kind of things you want to know.

[Rin's never been good about sharing about herself since a magus needs to be so isolated. When the restaurant comes in view Rin points it out. Looks like a small Ramen shop with a frying station for takoyaki.]

What kind of person you are. I know about your wish [ or lack thereof ], but that's not enough. Things like... your favourite animal, or if you've ever used a sword.

[ What in the fuck do those have to do with each other? Nothing. Casually, she adds: ]

Ah, and whatever you're thinking about ordering, double it. [ Miserly Master >:V ]

Is learning about me important, or do you just want to know? We might not even be partners for very long.

[Rin orders a couple's special and then some extra sides for Mordred. She'll get cheap extra stuff like miso soup and extra rice. Though Rin also orders an appetizer of gyoza which she hopes to enjoy. ~~Mordred better not eat ALL the food~~.

Once they've been seated and have their order in, Rin pulls out a napkin to place delicately in her lap.]
