[They're at a disadvantage caged in like this. Even if Greed can handle himself, she'd be a sitting duck encased in a place like this. She has to go, even if he doesn't come with her. Rin pumps her legs full of mana to give more power when she takes a running leap.

She's able to clear the fence on the opposite side of their enemy, but she'll have to use more mana to strengthen her legs to take the impact if Greed isn't going to help her stick the landing.]

[She's welcome to use all the mana she needs, because Greed has a pool of it far greater than her own that he's more than capable of relying on. He doesn't take his eyes off Bastet for a moment and trusts that all that talk she's been so far is going to pay off.]

You know, I really do hate fighting women. But it's probably pointless to ask you to back down. [A step forward, then he breaks out into a sprint with his two hands outstretched into claws. They weren't particularly long, but they really didn't need to be. It wouldn't take long to cut right through her and despite his announced reluctance, he doesn't hesitate to try and take the first blow.]

[Bait. Set. And trap.

The Tohsaka girl leaps into range much as he expected her to. The Old Man hadn't really been sure which mage they would catch in this particular snare, but it made sense it would be one of the students. That meant she was young and inexperienced, but that was no reason to relax. Even a novice mage could prove to be a headache.

The bolas that went whipping towards her feet lacked the usual technology he used, since they would be useless in this kind of fight. They were pure iron, enhanced with mana that created a magnetic effect when reacting to a larger source of mana, such as a mage. Killing her wasn't the objective - but he had no intention of letting her interfere.]

[Rin's unlucky enough to have her legs swept out from under her just as she lands. She hits the ground hard enough to know there will be sever bruising if she can manage to survive this.

No. Being caught like this is a death sentence. When her feet can't kick off the bola Rin whips out a shining quartz from her pocket. She shouts out a spell that releases the mana inside the stone shooting out to break the iron. Once free she begins to scramble to her feet. Rin's eyes search wildly for cover from any oncoming attack.]

[Meanwhile Bastet laughs. As Assassin class she's not strong enough to take a Saber head on, but she can definitely serve as a delightful distraction. She allows Greed to come straight at her, and at the last second she uses a dagger to deflect his clawed hand as she jumps out of the way.

It's so exciting to be let loose on the world again! The chance to fight and kill and taste blood! It's wonderful. Bastet continues to be playfully defensive. Greed won't have to worry about his qualms about hitting a woman, because she intends never to let him do so. Though, that's only because Bastet doesn't stand a chance against him. Not when summoned into this Servant class, at least.]

[If he were a smarter fighter, he'd realize he was being toyed with. But Greed isn't particularly quick when it comes to that. Part of the problem with never being human is that you don't learn what consequences are until you're completely outclassed. In this case, this isn't quite as maddening as dealing with Wrath, but it's damn near close.]

C'mon, you can do better than that. You want to get at least one hit on me, right? I'll give you a freebie, if you like.

[It's better than chasing her non stop, right?]

["Tohsaka Rin." That's the name the Old Man confirms over the earpiece given to both McGinnis and Assassin. "Year 2 student. Prestigious mage family. Handle with care."

So, he had a real bona fide mage on his hands here. It made him feel justified sticking to the shadows where he could continue to collect information. If it came out to open conflict, he might not necessarily come out on top. Well, nevermind that...

A smoke bomb explodes a few feet to Rin's right and a shadowy figure runs past her, delivering a sudden tap on her shoulder before the figure darts away again. The crashing of glass below makes it clear where he's gone - the classroom immediately below.]

[Rin pauses for a moment. Her arm raising to shield her mouth and nose from the smoke. Does she follow that figure? If she stayed she could probably help Greed take down this Servant. However that also gives the Master a chance to find an ideal position to take her out while she's helping.

Rin frowns. The best possible option is to take down the Master. Greed is a Saber. He can handle the fight himself. She takes off — jumping into the hole of the broken window to follow the shadowy figure. The hand not shielding her face holds a couple jewels in preparation for a fight.]

Oh no, not at all! I'd prefer a kiss, but you came at me first.

[She smiles devilishly while balancing on the top of the fence. Her feet are steady despite the lack of room for sure footing. Assassin tilts her head just-so, making it so that the moonlight glints off her little fangs when she smiles.]

[The classroom below is dark, only partially illuminated by the setting sun outside. It would be an easy place to hide, but Terry is standing at the far side of the room with his outline clearly visible even if his features are not.

She was a world class mage, which meant fighting her head on would be reckless. Best to draw this out.]

You won't like to hear this, but I have you at a disadvantage Miss Tohsaka. [His Japanese is fluent, though there's a thick American accent that comes with it.] I already know your name but worse yet, I know the name of your Servant as well. Based on his reputation, I'm going to say he's a Saber. Am I wrong?

[Damn, she's fast. Greed could fight like a devil if he had to, but he'd never been particularly good with enemies that could outmaneuver him like this. He was starting to feel like maybe she was playing with him... goading him into tapping into one of his Noble Phantasms. It was tempting, but he didn't want to play that hand just yet.

So instead he stands up straight and plants his hands on his hips and bellows out a laugh.]

That's rich! You're going to make me blush. You know, we could just ditch this Holy Grail thing and go grab a drink, if you're game. I doubt our masters will notice.

[All it takes is but a small jump to get her on the high ground. Her feet stand atop a desk. The moonlight doesn't reach in the classroom, but the shine of a streetlight filtering in through the smoke glints off the jewels in her hand.]

Unless you're offering me something I don't care to hear another word out of your mouth, stranger.

A tempting offer. I doubt I could turn down a fine wine with a fine man. Will you even escort me home after?

[Not one to keep idle, Assassin begins to follow the fence around the perimeter of the roof just to keep herself busy.]

[... talk about a flair for the dramatics. He almost complains about it, but the Old Man would just cut him off if he did. Just stay focused.]

Maybe I am. You ever watch any reality TV? Situations like this lend themselves to temporary alliances. I'm told it was really trendy in the last Grail War.

["We are not allying with this girl," the Old Man commands. But Terry ignores that. This is kind of a gambit and completely unplanned, but a younger mage might be game.]

I'll escort you anywhere you like. I'm nothing if not a gentleman.

[Not that his Master would be inclined to believe that... For his part, Greed remains stationary. He seems content to remain out in the open like a statue. He's practically begging to be attacked.]

This is a pretty terrible way to ask for my help. Why should I trust you?

[Her thumb rubs over one of the jewels. It's perfectly cut facets feel smooth and perfect on her skin. She can feel the power coursing through it, and is poised to use it at any moment.]

[She wants to. The Assassin wants to leap forward and sink her teeth deep into his shoulders to taste his flesh and blood. Bastet continues to circle him like a shark waiting to start a frenzy. She licks her lips.]

You say that, but you're hardly showing me a good time right now.

[Terry shrugs nonchalantly.]

Well it's not like I could put an ad in the newspaper. "Local boy looking for magi to befriend in secret magical war." You just get the wrong crowd with that kind of stuff, you know?

[He's playing defenseless, but he's not. He's fingering his own bladed weapon and is just waiting to see if she'll make the first move. He really, really hopes she doesn't.]

You wound me. [He turns his back on her and puts his hands in the air.] If that's how you're going to be, there's not much point in me being here, is there?

So what, you think trying to kill me by messing up the landing of my jump off a school building was the only way to ask for help? Give me one reason not to shoot your nose off your face.

And where will you go? Back to the child that tells you what to do?

[Bastet crouches once more at the top of the fence like a cat poised atop a roof.]

["You're finished here, kid. Wrap it up."

Damn and just when he thought he might be making progress. Terry shrugs.]

You make a good point. I'd tell you not to stick around, but...

[He touches the buckle on his belt and just like that, he fades from view. What follows is rumbling, but not from any seismic source. It's not coming from below, but above.

That's their cue to go.]

I wouldn't call her a child, but...

[Before he can conclude his flimsy defense of Rin, the lights of the magical crest light up. A circuit of blue energy emerges and seems to swallow Greed up. But nothing seems to happen to him. He spins around wildly to see what's going on, but doesn't realize his mistake until he looks up.

There, appearing a hundred feet high and glowing in a bright magical energy visible to any mage, was a magnified Greed. He'd been so damn cocky staying in the ring while Bastet stayed on the outskirts and now every Master and Servant in the city would see him. Goddammit.

He conceals himself and turns invisible, but the damage is done already.]

[Shit. Her servant.

Despite being the most vulnerable of the pair, it doesn't make Greed invincible. Rin pumps magical energy into her legs to aid her speed as she darts out of the classroom and back out into the open area where the P.E. class takes place. She stares up at the roof of the building unable to make out what's going on.]

Saber!

[What's happening?! She doesn't want to use a command seal to bring him back to her, but she's scared out of her wits something may have happened to him.]

[Of course Assassin's signal to leave was that projection magic, but she can't help herself with a little lonely Master there at her feet. Assassin's are only desired for their specialty in killing Masters after all.

Bastet flashes a smile full of teeth as she looks down at Rin. Her hand grips her dagger a bit more firmly just as she leaps off the fence of the roof to come down upon the young woman.]
