Instead of allowing her the opportunity to ask it even one more time, he dragged his things in while she'd gone out with Sakura.

'Permission' was only a formality at that point. Leaving the two cardboard boxes containing the only things he cared to keep at the door, he busied himself with a few more chores before going to make a call--staring at a slip of paper handed to him by Otoko before he left on his last shift. She promised it was a pleasantly quiet spot that took last-minute invites, so it was likely a good place to give that a try. He hung up only a minute before Rin returned home, scrambling to sit on the stairs in a hurry to undo two buttons on his shirt to wait for her to pass by. Why had he done it?
