Reaching out to Rin is like stepping into a moonlit parlor. Everything is quiet, muted, and neatly tucked away. Almost like a "lobby," of sorts to keep visitors away from the rest of what goes on in her head... and her heart. This space is cool, and placid. Much like the surface of a lake in winter as it reflects the pale glow of the celestial bodies hanging above it in the sky.

A reflection of serenity rather the true thing. A mask of elegance to hide anything that may be unsightly. Anything that may betray her.

[Slowly she starts combing through his hair with her fingers.]

It was different. Short, and pushed back away from his face. But don't feel sorry, he just... He was a familiar that I had summoned, and he died protecting me.

[ He sees Rin upside down when he looks at her, but Dark squints after a moment of deliberation. ]

You totally had the hots for him.

[ SO SUSPICIOUS OF HER RELATIONSHIP WITH ARCHER. ]

Does... that matter if he's dead?

[Like, she'll totally deny it still, but does it matter?]

Probably not if he can't resurrect himself.

[ Like this is normal to consider. ]

If he could do that, though, I doubt you'd be this gloomy about it.

I'm not gloomy.

[Tohsaka cradles his head in her hands as he continues craning his neck to look at her. She supports him as she leans down to touch her forehead with his own.]

I'm tired. I feel dull. Nothing is exciting, it's harder to feel angry, and it's like I'm numb. But it only lasts for stretches. It lifts and I feel manic, or especially angry. I think it's the same problem that is making my eyes darker.

[ As she leans over him, dark hair falling around the sides of his face, he feels a heaviness sink in his stomach. It's unfamiliar— unpleasant. A sensation that he absolutely reviles. Without saying anything, his eyes lock with hers, burning the sight of her dark scleras in deeply, thoughtfully.

Is this what it means to be powerless?

Dark collects Rin's hair in his hand, bundling it tightly in his palm and squeezing. Gripping. He refuses the situation. ]

Harbinger, right?

[ She'll need one of the two aspects compatible with her own. Someone who's harmonized with Meridian. If that's how it's going to be, he'll just force someone to fix her discord then. Anything to get her back to her usual, fussy self. ]

Don't leave the castle. I'll make someone help you.

[ There's a certain ominousness to what he says, a statement unthinking of the other involved party. ]

[But he's still holding onto her hair?!]

Um... I probably know someone. It's not that bad, is it? I haven't started growing any weird parts or tried to do something I wouldn't normally do.

[ He continues holding her hair... ]

G—Gray! She's... she's a Meridian Advocate, and she's very nice so don't be mean to her!

[Oh no. Oh, Rin is probably going to have to apologize to Gray so hard when this is all over.]

[ Dark lets go of Rin's hair now, shifting away from the sofa. As far as he's concerned, now is as good a time as ever to go fetch this "Gray" person. ]

[Poor Gray. She should have asked for Vash and have Dark manhandle that idiot, but Gray was first on her mind as someone confirmed to be a good fit for her.]

[Quietly she spills the beans. Hoping that by doing so she'll minimize the potential damage and any havoc he may wreak when trying to find the other girl.]
