[Archer had been kind, perhaps too kind, in turning on the heat every day about an hour before she woke up. The amount of use it got that winter was enough to choke the system, and one day during a blizzard it kicks out. Leaving the mansion colder than ever. Especially since the chimney hasn't been cleaned out in decades.
Tohsaka curls up in the parlor with a large blanket around herself looking like a silly cocoon. Archer studies the fireplace to see if it's worth cleaning out. After all the greenhouse has a stockpile of wood that hadn't been used in Tokiomi's or Rin's time in the mansion because the central heating was too convenient.]
[ His first thought when the heating unit goes out is that he should at least attempt to repair it. When that fails (he needs parts, and magicking them into existence isn't a permanent fix), he looks for other options to tide them over until the snowstorm passes.
Or rather, other options for Rin since the cold doesn't really affect him much as a spirit.
The chimney, unfortunately, is a right awful mess. It clearly hasn't been used in years so cleaning it out is going to be messy work. Necessary, of course, since it's their best option for heating, but it will take some time.
Letting out a sigh, Archer backs away from the fireplace, soot smeared on his face and in his hair, and looks over at Rin. It is very cold, unfortunately, so as he walks over to her, he magics another heavy blanket into existence and tucks it around her shoulders. ]
It's quite filthy in there, but I believe I can clean it.
[She cannot help but snicker a bit when he leans in to pull the new blanket around her. Tohsaka's hand reaches out from her cocoon and wipes the pad of her thumb across his soot-covered cheek.]
Well, at least the water heater is still working. You might earn yourself a nice hot shower if you get it working.
[He may not need the warmth or the manual cleanse, but she assumes it might still be a nice experience.]
[Since the blanket on her outer layer is one of his making and not one of the house, Tohsaka smears the soot on that blanket and curls back up more thoroughly.]
Mm, you know... I can't stand to see people working hard with nothing to show for it.
Hmm...well if it bothers you, I'm sure you'll think of a solution.
[ He's not pressed about it either way. He doesn't actually mind the work. ]
I'll be back in a few minutes.
[ It's time to brew some tea in the kitchen, after all. It won't take him long, and when he returns, it's with a thermos. He knows how she likes her tea, and it should help keep her warm while he works. ]
[A solution? What more could she do for him without pushing too hard, too far, too fast? Night to night his memories would flood her dreams. Make them take shape and tell her of his story. Was there something in those dreams she could utilize?
He worked hard then. Worked so hard and all he had to show for it was nobody's gratitude. And he has so many convenient excuses now — most of all in being a Servant who needed and wanted for nothing. It really bothers her that all she can do for now is look down at her own frowning reflection in the thermos when he hands it to her.]
[ Oblivious to her concerns, Archer merely offers a brief, ghost of a smile at her thanks before he gets to work.
Projection certainly comes in handy at this present moment, as he's able to make the sheet and coverings he needs to protect the floor and furnishings. Once that's done, he makes his way up into the chimney itself to clear out the mess that has it clogged.
It takes time, of course. He's more efficient than a human workman would have been, given what he is, but he does want to take care to prevent too much mess from spreading.
When he's finally gotten the chimney unclogged, Archer comes back down in...well, quite the state, really. He's covered in soot but doesn't seem to be all that bothered by it. He magics a handkerchief into existence and wipes some of it off his face. ]
Are you still warm, Rin?
[ He needs to know that before moving on to actually getting a fire built. ]
[Oh no. She can't help it. Look at him! Look at this huge man covered in soot! He look so silly! Unfortunately Rin won't answer because she devolves into laughing.]
You — look at you! Hahahaha!
[Her small hands grasp that thermos tight so it's not going anywhere as her shoulders lift and fall from her laughing.]

Given our present circumstances, I think it's best if we reserve that for you.
[ A hot shower would be nice, but he would much rather make sure Rin has what she needs. He'll be fine, regardless. ]
I'll make you some tea first and then see what I can do about this.
[ Spoilers: he's literally going to be hauling himself up the chimney to get it cleaned out. ]

Thank you, Archer.
[Spoken softly, and only for him.]
