Miss Tohsaka is a complicated young woman who finds it difficult to open up to others. Beyond that prickly (or impish) exterior is a young woman of versatility. While Miss Tohsaka can be both your devil and your angel, she can also be much more. [Much like a cat, Rin is inherently contrary. The moment he tries to tell her what to do her expression twists into a childish pout as her suddenly reluctant behavior switches into the overdrive of, "well now I want to try them." Even though she's aware of the danger they might pose. It's not even that she has interest in any of them. Rin would simply be proving a (very stupid) point.]

Hrm. For lowering other people's guards?

[She doesn't like it. If only because the only way to not be suspicious about it would be to take part in it with her target, and at that point she'd probably lose sight of her goal.

Like now, as she cuddles up to someone she'd still consider a relative stranger.]

Oh, no! They have the horny ones, do whatever you want with those...! But, oh, they have stimulants, those are addictive, you know, and you don't get to sleep for a long, long time, and you sweat, and everything is so fast.

[Tohsaka whines at the thought of trying to keep track of all that while also being inebriated like this. It makes her huff a huge sigh much like a lazy cat unwilling to move from its spot. Though she does seem to have started... petting his knee. Not for any purpose, mind you. Just an idle movement that brings her a satisfying textural sensation. A point of interest for her now that he's blocking out the extra senses she has as a mage. The fibers of slacks seem to please her.]

(one thing about dazai is that he has spent the better part of his year in a maximum security prison, secret from the public, and its location equally unknown. his entire world was a glass cubicle suspended in the air - in which there was only a bed and a short walking space. for someone like him, whose brain begs for serotonin and drowns in its own boredom depression, it is hell to not feel touch, not feel stimulus.

[He'll find her there promptly. Her hair no longer done up in its typical twin-tail style because of her newly formed cat ears atop her head. Her manner of dress is... revealing, but that's most likely thanks to The House. She wears a red "Virgin Killer Sweater" with a cat bell hanging about the collar. As for bottoms, well... earlier into the new 'Springtime' game she had made do without. However now she'll at least be wearing a small miniskirt and thigh highs.

Though she does seem to keep looking over her shoulder in worry that her tail might lift the skirt up a bit too much.]

(isn't life ironic? dazai hates dogs, almost more than anything in this life or the next. the idea of something that has unconditional love is outrageous, they have sharp teeth, and they will bite you. there is a long list of reasons, one he could literally write a book about, much like his author counterpart has done.

which is why the fact he has a wolf tale doesn't particularly thrill him. in fact, his self-hatred is at an all-time high! damn this place, not making him immune to its whims! or-- perhaps, damn 'no longer human', not protecting him from this absurdity!

[WHY IS SHE MEETING SO MANY WOLVES??? Of all things she only managed to find one rabbit, but she seems to be fucking wolf-bait! Her instinct sends alarm bells ringing through her skull the moment his palm rests atop her head between her ears. She bristles much like a real cat — the fur on her tail and ears bristling and puffing out comically.

Also like a real cat? She swats his hand away, and nearly hisses.]

[Her expression softens a little when he says that. It's true... she actually really likes being a cat. When she was younger a magic trinket turned her into an "idealized" version of herself which, embarrassingly enough, had cat ears and a tail.

Though upon seeing the way his tail incessantly wags, she turns back to looking a little disgruntled. Smelly dog...]

...Right. Where are we going?

[She asks as the tip of her tail flicks back and forth in irritation.]

(not that he would disagree. he too thinks 'smelly dog', with the added insults next to it, he despises this with every cell of his being, thank you so much.

but he won't tell her where they are going, because it makes no sense. he stumbled upon it tonight, but he has the casino memorized - he knows it's not there every night.)

(and he guides, no rush, no worries. eventually, they arrive at the night market - a feast for the eyes, and he gestures for her to go ahead. he's sure something will catch her eye immediately.)

[This will be her first time at the Rookery night market. Which, unfortunately for her, means that her little cat-brain is immediately distracted by anything sparkly or shiny. So even if their main goal may be in sight, she gets sidetracked by...

A crystal light catcher! It's so useless and pretty! She bats at it so it catches the ambient light in different ways.]

(he's so pleased with himself, his tail wagging so hard that he could fly away as if he were a chopper. he will mostly let her have her fun, and she will notice that he keeps his hands to himself for once - he doesn't wish to mess with her spiritual affinity or whatever it is that she has going on, neither is he interested in accidentally ruining anything by severing its abilities from the person who cast it... should that be the case.

[When she's called out on the frivolous behavior, Rin gives a start. Her muscles tensing up briefly before her cat ears fall a little flatter. The expression on her face turns from curiosity to a small and indignant pout.]

...You probably brought me here because you found a cauldron, didn't you? Where is it?

[She refuses to look for it herself — less she get distracted and chase a rabbit shaped remote control toy like she's some kind of actual animal.]

(there are several things of interest, he supposes! he isn't sure what she is looking for, of course, but he does remember a tent that she might enjoy, a good selection set before them.

and then he sees food. truth be told, dazai doesn't eat that much. it takes effort, and on his own, he takes horrible care of himself. but it does make him stare with puppy dog eyes towards the food.

... which he can't have. :( not allowed to engage with rookery.)

[It seems he brings her to a tent focused on scientific witchery. There are cauldrons, yes, but those are further in. Up front are crystal balls, boxes of quartz, packs of tarot cards, star charts, and more. Some of it from other worlds with constellations and arcana she cannot recognize. Beakers, protractors, recipes and ingredients. The tent seems to be overflowing with wonders, and Rin is eager to get her metaphorical paws all over each and every piece. In truth none of the items are magical in-and-of themselves (aside from the little curses or charms attached to them that the resort seems to apply). Everything merely a tool — insignificant without those who know how to use it.

Tohsaka flits around the tent for quite a bit. Murmuring to herself about quality or curiosity. The cat tail she has stands right up; a sign of being contented, happily or sociable. Though this does mean that her skirt is hiked up with it — occasionally flashing a glimpse of her red and black panties.

Eventually she finds the cauldrons. Stuffed in the back because they're so big. Two of them she dismisses immediately. Too small or made out of "unacceptable" material. The third, however... well, it's a little over twice the size of a dutch oven while also seeming incredibly heavy. When she's satisfied Rin starts haggling with the person running the little shop. They go back and forth on it until Rin finally points out that the thing is actually broken! There is a huge crack in the side! Even so it seems she still wants it.

In the end... they settle on something odd. The seller seems pleased, and brings out a bejeweled knife. Since the whole of the Rookery is supernatural in nature it's not unusual for this sort of exchange to take place, and Rin seems unfazed when the seller takes her wrist, slits open her palm, and collects her blood in one of the vials on display. Not even her cat ears flinch when the knife breaks skin. Her blood holds magical energy, and she produces much more of it than the average mage (20x more to be exact). For them it is a suitable trade.]

(it half seems like dazai is too distracted to pay attention, distracted by the food, by the people, almost looking like he wants to run... and thank god he doesn't sport ears like she does, because it'd be clear he's listening in. of course, the information will never translate to his ears as it does rin's, his own world is not magical like hers. witchiness doesn't exist perse, only ability users, and to him and all his knowledge about it, he attempts to make connections, but they're not exactly comparable. he'll take it as it is, memorizing each and every word that is spent, especially how her payment seems to be unorthodox, to say the least.

he wouldn't dare touch the vial, he couldn't, probably. he would never risk it, but he will make a mental note to return here and buy it back. perhaps his own blood can be a good trading bargaining chip. the blood of a nullificator.

he'll wait for her to come to him, he's not exactly next to her since the negotiations started - instead, he's sitting in front of a food vendor, tail wagging, looking at the skewers with those Big Eyes.)

[Tohsaka comes shuffling away from the tent to meet up with him again. Her hands and arms are full hauling the cauldron. With her arms not in long sleeves, it's made abundantly clear that Rin is the type of girl who looks like she doesn't have muscles until they flex. Holding the heavy 'pot' means the fact that she does push ups every night before bed is showing.]

Huh, are you hungry? We can grab something to eat after I drop this off at my room.
